You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, while identifying tax-saving opportunities and managing risk. A Day in the Life
· Prepare and maintain quarterly tax provisions (current and deferred) under ASC 740 to determine required estimated payments and for financial reporting purposes
· Facilitate and manage the preparation and review of the company’s federal and state tax returns with external tax advisor
· Ensure accurate, timely filing of consolidated federal, state and local income, sales/use, property, and franchise tax filings and other business-related tax filings
· Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation
· Research, develop, coordinate, and implement strategies to ensure tax compliance
· Manage and facilitate the audits by various taxing authorities: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc.
· Monitor any uncertain tax positions (if applicable), including any transactional or excise tax positions
· Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company’s effective tax rate
· Monitor legislative changes and assess impact on the business
· Assist with due diligence and tax structuring for potential M&A activity
· Write position documents and notes to files for support of any recommendation or tax policy or process implemented
· Creates and implements tax plans and works with the accounting and leadership teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and potential areas of risk
· Ensure tax record, documentation, account reconciliations (including deferred income taxes) and internal controls are completed and organized to support compliance and audits
· Travel nationally as needed
· All other duties as assigned

Education/Experience
· Four-Year accounting or finance degree
· Master’s degree in Tax, Accounting, MBA or other related fields is preferred
· CPA certification and prior experience in public accounting is preferred
· Prior experience with private equity owned companies
· 8+ years of relevant tax experience
Qualifications
· Extensive US corporate tax knowledge including international tax knowledge as it relates to domestic regulation is a plus
· Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations
· Familiarity with US federal, multi-state, and local reporting requirements
· Solid understanding of ASC 740 tax accounting principles
· Strong experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements
· Advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
· Outstanding listening, communication, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills
