Technical Consultant

Your Role and Responsibilities
As an technical consultant, you will help IBM Clients solve some of their most challenging business problems, capitalize market opportunities and understand leading technologies and the impact they can have on traditional business processes.

Your primary responsibilities include:

• RACF Administration
  • Manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) processes to ensure secure access to mainframe systems
  • Create RACF groups to maintain the accesses to datasets, DBs (DB2 and IMS), transactions (IMS and CICS)
  • Resolve RACF related errors
• DB2 Administration
  • Use DB2 utilities, Omegamon and master logs to resolve SQL or DB related issues
• IMS Administration
  • Use Deltaims, IMS utilities and IMS commands to resolve any issues reported for IMS transactions or DBs
• CICS Administration
  • Analyze the CICS region logs and guide application teams with error resolution.
• LPAR Performance monitoring
  • Monitor active spool for batch jobs and started tasks if any issues are reported related to slow response or job execution in any region
  • Use performance related tools like Strobe, Omegamon to identify the reason for high CPU consumption, slow response and collaborate with application team to fix the issues
