PL/SQL Developer

Experience

Must have 6+ years PL/SQL Developer working experience on Oracle Database 10g, 11g and/or 12c.

Role Description

The primary objective of the PL/SQL Developer is to develop and maintain the corporate Oracle programs.

In this role, the PL/SQL Developer will design, build, test, and deploy quality database solutions that are consistent with project objectives, technology architecture standards and departmental best practices. The PL/SQL Developer will contribute to project plans, technical analysis, troubleshooting and technical architecture design.

The PL/SQL Developer will engage in all phases of the software development lifecycle and will develop and support database solutions/processes that maximize system availability, efficiency, effectiveness, integrity, recoverability, and supportability. Specific responsibilities include:

• Document detailed system specifications and participate in evaluating, troubleshooting, and fixing issues with applications.
• Database and PL/SQL optimization including performance tuning, query optimization and supportability.
• Work with development project teams to design and implement database solutions to meet business requirements.
• Support of the nightly ETL processing
• Project Estimation process - including attending project kick-offs and design reviews as necessary to appropriately size new projects.
• Develop and implement Database security polices and controls and procedures, in line with corporate objectives
• Provide overall database support with concentration on back-end programming
• Should be able to understand the project scope, deliverables, and timelines and involve in the design, development and integration of solutions.
• Should be able to use best practices and use performance tunings skills and dynamic SQL skills to develop scalable solutions.

• Must have 6+ years PL/SQL Developer working experience on Oracle Database 10g, 11g and/or 12c.

• Must be knowledgeable and experienced working with multiple operating systems including Microsoft Windows and Linux.
• Strong skills in Oracle server side programming which includes SQL, SQL*Plus, PL/SQL Packages, Stored Procedures, Functions, Cursors, Triggers, Views, Materialize Views, Temporary tables.
• Experience in Exception Handling and debugging PL/SQL Code, DDL, DML, and DBMS jobs.
• Strong skills in PL/SQL and UNIX/Linux Shell Scripting
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL Design, Development, Tuning and debugging skills
• Experience in creating Materialized Views and Indexes for better performance of summary tables, Autonomous Transactions, and developing Dynamic SQL Statements.
• Experience in writing Cursors, User-defined Object types, Records, and Tables in PL/SQL Programming for generating worksheets, Arrays & Queues.
• Strong experience in developing and supporting end-to-end jobs as part of ETL Process.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to Collaborate with onshore and offshore teams as needed
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude while working with high demands and short deadlines
• Ability to prioritize heavy workload with minimum supervision.
• Must have excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
• Support interfaces and back-end integration with applications.
• Strong Troubleshooting Skills.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Understanding of High Availability and Disaster Recovery requirements and solutions.

Not Required, but Preferred:

• Oracle Education and Certifications (OCP) are a plus.

• Experience in programming languages like C# and Python.
• Understanding of or experience supporting .NET application.
• Security and compliance experience including Encryption, Audit, Authentication, PCI, GLBA, SOX, etc.
• Experience in software development and Agile processes.
• Experience in data modeling and DM tools such as Oracle Data Modeler, Erwin, Toad, Visio, etc.
• Understanding of or experience with virtual environments.

Physical requirements include:

• Availability to work various shifts, extended hours and to provide on-call support as required.

• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, hand and power tools, and to handle other computer components.

• Lifting, bending and transporting of heavy to moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.

• Visual acuity to read technical documents, computer screens and to accurately identify small parts and components.

Ability to bend, stretch, and crawl under desks

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 3 years of experience in lieu of every year of education

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical discipline.

• Min 5 years of experience in Information Technology
