The Technical Product Manager will provide product vision and collaborate with engineers and business partners in the development of features for the SaaS Data Platform operated by SimpleTire. This team member will lead the development of a revenue-generating product experience that targets spreadsheet-oriented users in the tire industry with no background in SQL or dashboard building. The product will deliver robust data insights while providing a best-in-class experience for end-users.

Essential job functions:

Product Manager Responsibilities (Primary)

  • Leverage your relentless curiosity to become the expert on market, industry and competitive trends that may influence your product strategy across the portfolio of data platform products you manage
  • In collaboration with the customer research team, gain a deep understanding of needs and pain points of the end user
  • Define the 12 month product vision, which includes capabilities and features, for each product area within your portfolio 
  • Create financial and KPI predictions based on the opportunities created by solving target user needs. Define success metrics. 
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate business needs into technical product requirements -- partnering with the engineering team to deliver a world class data platform. 
  • Write and manage user stories in an agile environment; develop short- and long-term strategic roadmaps
  • Focus on delivery execution to improve our ability to go to market with the right product, positioned to be responsive to consumer demand and optimized to our addressable market. 
  • Drive the use of data for insights, decision support, and forecasting. 
  • Lead build vs. buy discussions regarding product platform.
  • Lead project teams, onboard internal and external resources and manage project deliverables to milestones
  • Utilize strong project management skills, including the ability to think and lead complex projects simultaneously to deliver business value
  • Have a deep understanding of the data architecture and integration points of the platform. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with DevOps and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth deployment and maintenance of the SaaS product.
  • Maintain the product backlog utilizing JIRA
  • Ability to communicate with a customer, business and technology stakeholders
  • Be ultimately responsible for the business impact of the products in your portfolio

Product Marketing responsibilities (Secondary)

  • Play a critical role in product adoption
  • Work with the Marketing, Innovation, Manufacturer Relations & Partner Program teams to communicate your products value to potential buyers
  • Participate in customer win / loss analysis 
  • Assist with sales and support training related to your products
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop the tools and campaigns needed to introduce and sell your products to the market
  • Work with the public relations team to amplifying the reach of your product marketing messages

Team member responsibilities

  • Be an important member of the product team, which is one of the four key pillars along with analytics, marketing and tech that support the broader SimpleTire organization of over 170 team members
  • Support the goals of the channel sales teams, including D2C, B2B, Partner Programs and Platform to accelerate their progress
  • Collaborate with teams across the organization including design, UX research, finance, tech, analytics, marketing and project management to execute your product strategy
  • Be a positive contributor to the SimpleTire culture, leading by example, and uplifting and inspiring colleagues

QualificationsMinimum Job Requirements 
  • 5+ years experience as a Product Manager in an Agile environment, ideally in SaaS data products and/or business intelligence.
  • Demonstrated record of defining and launching SaaS services.
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Experience with Cloud computing services such as AWS, GCP, and Azure.
  • Familiarity with visualization tools such as PowerBI for full-stack data analysis, insight synthesis and presentation.
  • Experience with JIRA
  • Experience in Snowflake a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
  • Self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced, innovative, enterprise tech environment
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills -- demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with and effectively communicate complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong awareness of technology trends and their potential influence.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Talking through the computer for many meetings and one-to-one conversations
  • Continuous viewing of a computer monitor and data entry.
  • Travel as necessary < 10%
