Technical Product Manager

$110,000-$150,000 Base Salary, Position eligible for additional incentives including bonus, 401k match, health and welfare benefits.

Hybrid work based in NYC.

National Funding (NF) is creating a new, state-of-the-art digital lending company, smallbusinessloans.com (SBL). SBL will launch fully digital lending offering targeted to SMBs seeking an automated loan experience. The company will differentiate itself from competitors via superior technology, risk management, data science, a fully digital UI, and a customer-first experience that emphasizes ease of use, fairness and transparency in pricing, and recognition of customer loyalty.

In order to maximize speed-to-market and efficiency, SBL intends to leverage the availability state-of-the art technology service providers and platforms. At the same time, SBL will build a robust set of modules around these platforms that will serve to differentiate SBL’s offerings in the marketplace and to its customers.

Position Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the initial team that will build a new suite of lending products from concept to launch. We are looking for an experienced Technical Product Manager who understands how to build and manage new financial products designed for how customer interact with financial products today – digital first. The Technical Product Managers stand as the leaders who drive product delivery goals from conceptualization to launch.
The ideal candidate will have a diverse experience in building and managing product, but a primary focus on financial products (FinTech experience is a plus). The Technical Product Manager is responsible for collaborating with stakeholders to set strategy and priorities for the delivery of technology and process improvements. The incumbent will collaborate with assigned team members to identify and develop resource requirements and implementation plans in order to execute on customer expectations.
The initial focus of the role is helping design and deliver the first generation of new digital lending products for National Funding. The incumbent will identify key product features to develop,
collaborate closely with key partners (technology, risk, compliance, and external partners) to launch features, and lead key projects from concept though launch.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Technical Product Manager who thrives in strategy, product design, project management, collaboration, and is passionate about building new products.

Major Responsibilities:

• Lifecycle product management.
• Identify and prioritize customer needs and features.
• Drive product roadmap development for new products and features.
• Define the product requirements, roadmap, and manage product backlog to ensure engineering productivity and properly set business expectations.
• Facilitate continuous collaboration among different teams across multiple functional areas.
• Lead key projects from concept through planning to development, launch, and post-launch support.
• Continuous collaboration with solution architects, engineers, designers, UX, marketers and other business users to design and launch great products that customers love.
• Perform product review and testing before and after the product launch.
• Conduct customer research, market research and competitor analysis.
• Be the Product owner for an Agile scrum team.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• 5+ years of experience as a product manager.
• Bachelor’s degree in an IT or business-related field.
• Experience in UI/UX – website customer experience; website funnel conversion optimization.
• Experience using product design and project management software (Figma, Miro, Monday, etc.).
• Experience with researching and determining customer needs.
• Highly quantitative, analytical, and business-minded (SQL, Python).
• Superior communication skills, both verbal and written and the ability to communicate effectively with senior executives.
• Self-directed, able to work independently, as well as work in a team-oriented, fast paced environment.
• Able to work collaboratively using Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Entrepreneurial and passionate about growing a company.
• Willing to wear many hats and collaborate with non-technical finance types.
• Experience in online credit, lending, risk management, and/or payments is preferred.
