Job Description

Dark Wolf Solutions seeks a highly experienced and energetic Sr. Technical Writer to support the US Space Force, Space Systems Command, in performing operational maintenance and sustainment of ground-based radars critical to US and Allied strategic missile surveillance, warning, defense, and space surveillance missions. In support of the government customer, the SAIC Program Manager, and the Chief Engineer, the Sr. Technical Writer is responsible for responsive and coherent planning, development, and delivery of PARCS and UEWR radar hardware and software modifications in response to change requests and deficiency reports.  This position will be a hybrid opportunity with onsite support as required by the customer at Peterson SFB Colorado Springs, CO.  Candidates must be located physically in the Colorado Springs, CO area or surrounding areas. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Writes and/or edits complex engineering specifications, user manuals, reports, briefings and presentations, guidelines, and other project deliverables to meet contract requirements.
  • Develops, revises, and produces technical orders’ change pages. Reviews content of technical documentation for quality.
  • Ensures proper application of applicable government standards and guidelines for technical writing.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and 5-years’ experience
  • Gather and interpret complex technical information for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a high level of interpersonal skills mandatory.
  • Must be a self-motivated team player with demonstrated ability to manage projects, tasks, and special assignments independently.
  • Manage documentation tasks for multiple products simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment with minimal supervision.
  • US Citizenship and an active Secret security clearance or higher. 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Experience working with agile teams and methodologies
  • Experience sustaining UEWR and or PARCS ground based radar systems.
  • Experience working with CAD programs, hardware drawings, and BOMs

This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO. 
The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $120,000.00, commensurate on experience and technical skillset.
