Your Role and Responsibilities
  • IBM TechXchange team is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as a Communications and Social Media Lead. In this role you will play a pivotal part in developing communication strategies/planmaintaining our overarching editorial calendar and executing the communications plan. The ideal candidate will have a passion for effective internal and external communication a keen understanding of social media tools & trends and the ability to craft compelling messages that resonate with our target audience.
Responsibilities
Communication Strategy
  • Develop TechXchange (TXC) communication (internal external social) strategy and plan
  • Work closely with other teams incl. IBM marketing & communication team to align communication efforts with overall goals. Align with overall RLM requirements.
  • Develop and maintain TXC editorial calendar.
  • Develop and execute communication plans for all areas of TXC including global event regional face-to-face events community activities etc.
  • Analyze communication metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Lead the preparation of internal external and executive communications materials including any IBM TechXchange Seismic and/or w3 presences.
  • Maintain and update communication calendars and schedules. Handle day-to-day administrative tasks related to communication and social media efforts.
  • Organize Client Advocacy All Hands and TechXchange All Stakeholders/Know Before you Go calls.
Social Media Management
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy across various platforms in partnership with the IBM Corporate social media team and TechXchange community managers.
  • Create and curate engaging content that aligns with our brand (IBM TXC) and resonates with our target audience (technologists).
  • Monitor social media channels for industry trends discussions and competitor activities.
  • Foster and grow online communities encouraging active participation and dialogue.
Brand Management
  • Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all communication channels.
  • Protect and enhance the organization’s reputation through effective communication strategies.
Content Creation
  • Provide guidance to the teams in the creation of compelling and shareable content for digital platforms including blog posts articles and social media posts.
  • Ensure content adheres to brand guidelines and effectively communicates key messages.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications Marketing or a related field.
  • Proven experience in social media management and content creation.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Knowledge of social media analytics tools and the ability to interpret data.
  • Familiarity with public relations practices and media relations.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
