Telecom System Project Manager

ERG is seeking an experienced project manager to support the planning and design phases of a project to install a closed 5G telecommunication system in support of energetics manufacturing. The project will involve planning and design of a local 5G network to collect process information, machine data, and sensor information to improve operational efficiency, ensure security and accountability of inventory, and provide real-time monitoring and tracking of all processes.

The position will be onsite at a federal site in Indian Head, Maryland, in the Washington, DC metro area. 

Job Description:

• Serve as the principal project manager for the planning and design of a closed 5G telecommunication system to support energetics manufacturing processes
• Develop and track project schedule for project planning and design efforts
• Prepare briefing materials and correspondence; lead meetings and briefings
• Provide coordination support (e.g., meetings, reviews, incorporating comments) with relevant stakeholders, including engineering, safety, and information technology personnel
• Track the status of tasks and actions using databases or spreadsheets
• Provide additional related support including, but not limited to word processing, database management, and spreadsheet management
• Interact with process owners and the design team to collect technical input

Qualifications and Skills:

• A minimum of 5 years of project management experience
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, electrical or mechanical engineering, or other relevant discipline; or Completion of a vocational or technical school program in telecommunications or similar discipline
• Expertise in advanced Microsoft Project, with the ability to develop and manage complex projects (including scheduling dependencies, resource delegation, critical path analysis, task sheets, and Gantt charts) and troubleshoot existing projects
• Technical experience with 5G telecommunication system design, installation, and implementation
• Technical experience with Internet of Things (IoT) systems
• Expertise in reviewing technical data packages and engineering drawings
• Experience in testing and evaluation, safety compliance, and cyber-security tests compliant with NIST SP 800-171 is not required but preferred
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is not required but preferred
• Federal contract or facilities experience
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance; Must be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations
