Job Description
A well-known academic center in east Missouri is excited to welcome a BC/BE Transplant Hepatologist to their Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. This 600-bed, Level-I trauma center is located in the beautiful newly built plaza. It is one of the largest faith-based care hospitals in the region and has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the elite hospitals in the nation. Their network of more than 600 physicians represents more than 60 medical specialties.
The liver transplant program was established in November 2011 and achieved Medicare approval in its second year of operation; Observed patient and graft survival rates exceed expected programmatic and national percentages.
Position Highlights:
• Opportunity for a Transplant Hepatologist, although General Gastroenterologists are welcome to apply.
• Collaborate with seasoned transplant hepatologists and transplant surgeons who are open to mentorship.
• Nearly 100% transplant hepatology focus.
• 4-day clinical work week with 5th day used as a research/administrative day.
• Clinical research and basic science collaborations are supported and encouraged.
• Incoming faculty will obtain a faculty appointment and have the opportunity to teach fellows in the future.
• Call is shared with other transplant physicians and will no greater than 1:3.
• Dedicated NP and hepatology nurse support.
• Not-for-profit organization qualifying for the PSLF program.
• H1B and J1 visa holders are encouraged to apply and fully supported by a seasoned staff.
• Competitive compensation (base guarantee $500k+) with 6 weeks paid vacation and CME.
