The opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Transport Operations Team Leader to oversee and manage the execution of road, ocean, and air shipments across the European region. The successful candidate will lead a team of transport professionals, ensuring the efficient coordination, optimization, and timely delivery of goods across various transport modes. This role requires a strong understanding of European logistics operations, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to work with various stakeholders to meet customer and business requirements.
How you'll make an impact:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing transport operations team.
- Oversee and manage all aspects of road, ocean, and air freight movements within the European region.
- Ensure all shipments are executed in a cost-effective, efficient, and timely manner.
- Act as the main point of contact for key clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders regarding transport operations.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Sales, Customer Service, Procurement) to address customer needs and ensure seamless order fulfillment.
- Manage transport budgets and assist in the development of cost-reduction strategies.
- Negotiate rates and contracts with third-party logistics providers (3PLs), freight forwarders, and carriers.
- Continuously assess and improve operational processes, workflows, and systems.
- Provide regular reports on transport operations performance, costs, and key metrics.

Your background:
- Proven experience (4+ years) in transport operations management, logistics, or supply chain management with a strong understanding of road, ocean, and air freight.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., APICS, IATA, CILT) are a plus.
- Experience (2+ years) leading teams, managing cross-functional projects, and coordinating operations across multiple countries.
- Knowledge of logistics management software, TMS (Transport Management Systems), and ERP systems (ideally SAP)
- Fluency in English is required, knowledge of Italian or Spanish is a strong advantage, as the role will involve communication with teams and clients in Southern Europe.
