Location: 1200 Pecan Street SE, Washington, DC 20032
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 3 x 12-hour shifts (Day or Night) Both shifts available
Start Date: Urgent – Must start within 2-3 weeks of offer
Travel Requirement: Must live at least 50 miles away
Job Description:
We are seeking highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. The ICU is a multidisciplinary unit that provides critical care for a diverse patient population, including neurological, neuro-surgical, medical, surgical, pulmonary, cardiology, cardiothoracic, and trauma cases.
As an ICU RN, you will utilize advanced medical technology and critical thinking skills to deliver high-quality patient care. You will collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal outcomes for critically ill patients.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and comprehensive patient care in the ICU.
- Monitor, assess, and manage critically ill patients using advanced medical technologies.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to established protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Utilize and manage various critical care technologies, including ventilators, arterial lines, PICC lines, IABP, ECMO/tandem heart, Impella, BIS monitors, CRRT, and intravenous infusion pumps.
- Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and families.
Requirements:
- Licensure: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington, DC.
- Certifications: NIHSS, BLS, and ACLS (Required).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience (Required).
- Education: Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program (Required); BSN (Highly Desired).
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
