Fastaff Travel Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN First Assist for a travel nursing job in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.

Position Details: BLS, ACLS, CNOR required. BSN required RN must have First Assists experience. This is for their main OR Hours are 7a-5:30p, 10 hour days, 4 shifts/week On call and weekends by rotation Additional Info: Knowledge of surgical anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology. Knowledge of operative techniques related to the procedures in which the RNFA assists. Pre-operative Phase Competencies for the management of patients in collaboration with other healthcare providers include, but are not limited to: Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to the age of the customer being served. Perform focused preoperative assessments. Provide patient and family education. Review and analyze patient data. Communicate pertinent information to the surgeon as appropriate. Communicate with other health care providers about the patient’s plan of care. Intra-operative competence for the performance of surgical first assisting techniques, include, but are not limited to: Position patient as required for the surgical procedure Prep and drape patient for specific surgical procedure. Use instruments and medical devices, Perform surgical site exposure, Handle tissue, Cut tissue, Provide hemostasis, Suture Wound management. Post-operative competencies for the management of patients in collaboration with other health care providers include, but are not limited to: Participate in or perform postoperative rounds (may include wound management, dressing changes, suture and/or drain removal, other type of catheter & IV removal and as ordered by the duly authorized prescriber). Communicate with other health care providers about the patient’s plan of care. Assist with or arrange discharge plan and identify appropriate community resources as needed.
