Occupational Therapist Job Overview: Occupational Therapists plan and execute rehabilitation programs to help patients improve, regain, and develop the skills needed for day to day life and work. Occupational Therapists utilize a variety of skills including, but not limited to therapeutic activities, neuromuscular re-education, fabricating/issuing splints, adaptive equipment recommendations, therapeutic exercise, manual techniques and physical modalities. They develop custom programs aimed at improving activities of daily living. Therapists demonstrate effective communication and strong interpersonal skills to motivate patients and provide compassionate care. Location: Marietta, GA Start Date: 3/3/2025 Schedule: Days; Mon-Fri (5x8) Setting: Hospital Occupational Therapist Duties: - Evaluates physical and functional status including muscle groups, motor function, upper extremity function, ADL’s, coordination and neurological status. Implements a plan of treatment as indicated by evaluations (includes manual therapy and/or modalities and therapeutic exercise, splinting fabrication/modifications) - Prepares and instructs appropriate therapeutic exercise programs and develops home programs - Documents initial evaluations, re-evaluations, progress notes, daily treatment, education and discharge summaries within compliance of BH Rehab policies. - Educates patients, families, and caregivers in strategies to manage pain, improve safety and function and educate re: individualized plan of care and documents appropriately. - Identifies issues re: patient safety and follows through with processes to accomplish safety for all involved. (family, caregiver, patient) - Performs Functional Capacity Evaluations and /or Work Screens (ie. department employee screens) and Driver’s evaluations (if trained). - Builds plan of care and implements treatment according to evaluation results with treatment strategies including therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular reeducation and ADL training, splinting, AAC and mobility consultations as needed. - Supervise Assistant / Aide staff as guided by governing board. - Collaborates with other disciplines and health care providers as needed to provide education or treatment planning Occupational Therapist Skills: - Demonstrates sound judgement, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times -Ability to work in a busy and stressful environment - Creativity, problem analysis and decision making - Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity and maintains confidentiality - Self-directed, completes assignments accurately, thoroughly and with minimal oversight - Strong emotional intelligence, interpersonal and teamwork skills Occupational Therapist Qualifications: -Experience: 1+ Years as an Occupational Therapist (Preferred) -Licensure: Active Georgia or Compact OT License (Required) -Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required) Why Join Us as a Occupational Therapist? -Work in a professional setting with a collaborative team. -Take advantage of competitive pay and travel-friendly benefits. - Expand your expertise while enjoying a supportive and professional work environment.
