Temporary position, up to 6 months. Monday-Friday Day Shift.

Under the supervision of the Chief of Program Services, the Treatment Specialist is responsible for the general individual and group counseling and case management services to pre-trial and sentenced men and women at the Barnstable County Correctional Facility.

Provide individual and group counseling and case management services to pre-trial and sentenced men and women at the Barnstable County Correctional Facility.

Facilitate groups focused on substance use and mental health issues which are primarily cognitive behavior treatment (CBT) based and use an evidenced-based curriculum. In addition to ongoing groups, coordinate time-limited groups focusing on coping skills, relapse prevention, and reentry planning.

Assist in the administration of standardized assessment tools to male/female offenders and participate in development of individualized treatment plans.

Assist in the development of reentry plans and connecting clients with health insurance as well as community-based primary care, MAT, mental health, and addiction treatment services and other support.

Assist in securing placements in sober housing and residential programs as needed.

Assist in the administration and completion of intake, discharge, and management information system paperwork on a timely basis.

Complete all necessary paperwork for accountability purposes for state grants, federal grants, and locally funded programs.

Coordinate with Classification Staff and Reintegration Coordinator to facilitate reintegration planning for inmates nearing release or parole.

Work in a team model with both uniformed and non-uniformed treatment staff to ensure therapeutic community and continuity of care standards throughout the facility.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in social work, criminal justice, human services, or psychology is required. (Master's Degree preferred)

LMHC, LCSW, or LICSW (preferred)

Experience working with offenders and substance abusing populations (preferred)

Experience in facilitating psycho-educational and CBT-based treatment groups

Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Valid Massachusetts driver's license.

Able to pass a security clearance background check and drug test.

Must demonstrate good written and oral communication skills.
