Job Summary
The UI Design Manager will be responsible for effectively communicating conceptual ideas and detailed design rational both verbally and visually. As part of our in-house interaction design team, you will work with a cross-functional team of developers, product managers, CX, UX and marketing and communications professionals to create multi-channel experiences across all surfaces that connect our brand, products and services for all users, customers, clients and stakeholders. You must have a strong attention towards strategic, simple, smart design, that is data driven, user-centric and engages audiences through user experience, interactions, and user interface. You will be working with a multidisciplinary team and engaging in user flows, information architecture, sketches, wireframes, and visual design. The right candidate should have deep expertise with design systems, and be able to contribute to style guides, UI toolkits, other design documentation as needed along with experience working and delivering engaging experiences across media.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Problem solving and idea generation, effectively visualizing and creating concepts into the end products. Utilizing knowledge of user experience, user interactions, and user interface through user flows, information architecture, sketches, and wireframes. development and application of visual design grids, typography, design, color, layout, iconography, imagery, design patterns and systems to address ambiguous, complex problems and projects while collaborating with others-stakeholders, technical teams, partners, and other designers.
- Work with leadership, product teams and design team members to establish priority, fidelity and delivery of design experiences and deliverables. Support the development of our OneAmerica brand and identity design system and contribute to style guides, UI toolkits, and other design documents, as needed.
- Speak and present to a range of stakeholders while effectively communicating conceptual ideas and detailed design rationale both verbally and visually.
- Build functional prototypes to validate and test your designs and participate in user research and testing processes and methodology to iterate and collaborate with persistent product teams.
- Collaborates with partners across disciplines to achieve the best possible creative solutions for every job.
- Communicate effectively with creative and project management staff, engendering trust and respect.
- You are proficient in industry standard design software, prototyping and methodologies used in the design process.
- Ensure quality control and outcomes.
- Produce comps and assist with stakeholder and team presentation preparations
- Mentoring designers
- Supporting design leadership and team dynamic
Job Requirements
Required Education and/or Certifications
- BA in Design, UX Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, related field
- Expertise in digital design software and tools including Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, InVision, AfterEffects, Figma with a Proficiency in front end web development HTML/JS/CSS and rapid prototyping techniques.
Recommended Education and/or Certifications
- PMI Agile Certification
Required Work Experience
- At least 7-10+ years of relevant (preferably agency or in-house team) experience.
- You have outstanding conceptual and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in advertising, marketing, corporate identity, brand management, sales promotion, product, UI, UX, media and multi-channel design.
- Strong grasp of the creative development process, have excellent art direction skills, and consistently deliver excellent design.
- Demonstrate solid expertise in developing creative solutions in a variety of campaigns across a broad range of problems and media, including advertising, print, video and broadcast, interactive, web, DM, and social networking, product marketing, communications and channel POS.
- Familiar with Agile methodology
- Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background
Salary Band: 06B
This selected candidate will be expected to work Hybrid in Indianapolis, IN. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, WI, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team-building and collaboration.
