Updox - Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Remote, US)

EverCommerce is seeking a senior-level Site Reliability Engineer to join the Updox Engineering team.

Responsibilities:

As a Sr. Site Reliability Engineer, you responsibilities will include:

• Work closely with DevOps, Performance, and Architecture teams to support the infrastructure and operations for a B2B SaaS product suite
• Maintain, scale, and support our platform infrastructure, including networking (switches, routers, firewalls and overall network architecture), storage systems (file, object, and data storage), container orchestration, and virtualization clusters
• Improve monitoring and early detection of systems and application level issues
• Work with Customer Support and L3 Support teams to resolve production incidents and identify gaps in the reliability of our infrastructure and applications
• Help transition the organization from a VM-based to a container-based application infrastructure
• Perform deep troubleshooting, debugging, and tuning as required to resolve issues and alleviate performance bottlenecks

Where:

The EverCommerce team is distributed globally, with multiple office locations across the U.S. and Canada. Our infrastructure lives in colocation data centers in Northeast Ohio. This role can be based anywhere in the United States, with preference will be given to Ohio-based candidates, given that this role involves managing hardware. You must be eligible to work in the United States in order to qualify for this role.

Required Experience:

The ideal candidate has moderate to advanced level experience with most of the following items, and has operated them in production at scale:

• Linux: configuration, troubleshooting, tuning, hardening, and monitoring
• Open source virtualization platforms, such as Proxmox or other KVM-based solutions
• Open source storage platforms, such as Ceph and GlusterFS
• Monitoring and observability tools such as the Elastic stack, Grafana, Prometheus, nagios, collectd, and DynaTrace
• Networking: topologies, routing, firewalls, VPNs, and overlay networks
• Containerization and orchestration platforms
• Automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform
• Proficiency with Bash and Python at a minimum. Experience with Go is desired as well.
• Core network services, such as DNS, LDAP, NTP, etc.
• Reverse proxies, such as Nginx and HAProxy
