The Nuance Healthcare User Experience team in the Boston metro area is looking for an Intern to support our ongoing research and design efforts. Applicants should be prepared to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment, while collaborating with a highly-skilled group of individuals that utilize the latest in voice-driven technology and AI to deliver the future of healthcare user experiences.
The User Experience Intern reports to a UX Lead, and supports UX Research and Design activities within Nuance's Healthcare product portfolio.

Education: Applicant must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in User Experience Design, Interaction Design, HCI, Human Factors, Cognitive Sciences and Psychology or a UX design-related field.

The User Experience Intern reports to a UX Lead, and supports UX Research and Design activities within Nuance's Healthcare product portfolio.
Required Skills:
- A solid understanding of UX Research and Design processes, and the steps required to complete tasks
- Strong analytical skills and well organized, with an ability to accurately estimate time and level of effort on given tasks
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to interpret, execute and iterate based on stakeholder feedback
- Experience with current UX research and UI design tools including Figma, Miro, Dovetail, Qualtrics
- Foundational knowledge of web application and mobile app product development, including mobile first and responsive UI design, HTML, CSS, Javascript frameworks, iOS and Android
- Adherence to HIPAA compliance and securing patient health information
Responsibilities:
- Support Lead UX in ongoing User Research and UX / UI design activities
- Generate a range of UX documents in support of product development efforts, including service blueprints and user journey maps, JTBD frameworks, user segmentation, workflow diagrams, information architecture schemas, wireframes and finished UI designs
- Participate in user research discovery activities and synthesize findings for input into a research repository
- Maintain clear priorities and work efficiently within a fluid, fast-paced product development ecosystem
- Regularly communicate progress with management and stakeholders
