Responsibilities

  • Ensure data services tier and database components are built to scale and can support varying workloads.
  • Design and maintain a functioning search engine utilizing industry standard search technologies like Elastic, Solr or other open source technologies to fulfill business requirements and system specifications.
  • Identify user needs, document requirements, and translate into proper system requirement specifications.
  • Consider server capacity and limitations, operating time, form of desired results and ensure data services tier is performing as per requirements.
  • Define systems scope, objectives and functionality based on user input and understanding of business processes and industry requirements.
  • Use Agile development methodologies to design and develop software applications & data service APIs by utilizing defensive programming techniques and high quality code to meet business requirements.
  • Develop, test, and maintain SOAP, REST, and WCF based API tiers and multi-threaded windows services, database objects of stored procedures, functions, tables, views and SSIS packages by utilizing SQL Server.
  • Develop and maintain search repositories using custom search technologies of Attivio, Solr, and Elastic.
  • Utilize authentication techniques of OAuth, OpenID, IIS Authentication, and JWT to facilitate external client facing API requirements and adhere to Information security guidelines.
  • Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Master's degree or equivalent in Applied Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Engineering (any), or related: and
  • 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related IT occupation.
  • Must include 3 years of experience in each of the following:
