JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports to: IMG E&SC Manager (Environmental & Safety Compliance)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Detailed Activities on Major Area:

  1. Vehicle homologation for CKD models new type approvals

Proactive in monitoring & developing cost effective homologation planning & process for vehicle type approval achieving timely launch of the new products

Work with VAMA for making sure the Vietnam authority to accept UNECE certificates and /or ASEAN test reports in line with ASEAN MRA

Develop new model type approval plan for new CKD launch

Obtain the vehicle emission testing & certification for CKD

Type approval for new CKD models

Extension certificates for existing models as Regulation change

Support QA to obtain vehicle certificate

Cascade mandatory government regulations with program team Validate all ECE approvals before submitting to Vietnamese authorities

Work with cross functional teams to access the impact of engineering changes

Support & execute the E&SC vehicle deliverables

2. Vehicle homologation for CBU Models (Each Shipment)

Proactive in monitoring & developing cost effective homologation planning & process for vehicle type approval achieving timely launch of the new products

Work with VAMA for elimination of Vietnam unique mandatory inspection requirements by replacing it with the BU type approval process.

CBU homologation planning

Work with custom to ensure homologation CBU unit for sales

Monitoring the vehicle registration with custom broker/forwarder

Thoroughly check / validate all ECE approvals before submitting to Vietnamese authorities

Work with cross functional teams & non LVEA coordinator to access the impact of engineering changes & responsible for all extension approvals

3. VAMA technical sub-committee representative for FVL

Participate in VAMA technical committees to influence Vietnam vehicle regulations in line with Ford product plan & minimize unexpected legislation of Vietnam unique regulations

Work with VAMA to secure appropriate minimum lead time for implementation of new vehicle regulations to protect ford product cycle plans for the market.

Prepare the technical regulation response to VAMA office

Present the technical regulation response to VAMA office

4. Advanced Vehicle Regulations, Fuel quality / emission, safety standard development / forecast

Reporting to advance vehicle regulations team all movement of vehicle regulation & homologation in Vietnam for cascading all the critical regulatory requirements being developed/ revised into corporate regulatory database so that the product plan & product development for Vietnam will be achieved without any timing/cost impacts.

Work with Fuel standard center to develop/comment on fuel standards both petrol & diesel std

Bio-Fuel ethanol standard update

Environment & safety regulation adoption in line with the ASEAN MRA scheme & to be prepare for VR's mandatory testing requirement roadmap

Work with VAMA for accession of Vietnam to the 1958 UNECE agreement for achieving regulatory harmonization & MRA under the 1958 agreement scheme.

Prior to accession to the 1958 agreement, work with VAMA for adoption of the UNECE regulations as per ASEAN MRA plan.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor Degree or above. Automotive Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

Minimum experience: 8 years

Requirements

Highly motivated self-starter with outstanding communication & negotiation skills

Ability to work independently as well as demonstrating strong teamwork and interpersonal skills

8+ years experience (Homologation, Regulatory compliance, lobbying)

Clear track record of on-time delivery

Basic knowledge on European / US regulations & type approval process

Broad understanding of design, product development, manufacturing, and compliance requirements

Exposure to new model testing, emission, FE, CAFÉ, crash

Demonstrated virtual team management skills

High level of integrity

Good communication skills in English

Demonstrated ability to lead a team

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
