The Rokt engineering team builds best-in-class ecommerce technology that provides personalized and relevant experiences for customers globally and empowers marketers with sophisticated, AI-driven tooling to better understand consumers. Roktâs VP of Design is the executive who leads the company in designing delightful product experiences that put users first and drive long-term business results. You'll guide overall design strategy, encompassing visual design, experience design, and design systems, facing both consumers and B2B clients. The leader in this role is responsible for a 12-person organization of product designers and managers.
Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, Srishti Gupta, The Vice President, Product Design will be responsible for:
- Oversee UX design, UX experimentation & user research, for: 1) consumer experience encountering Rokt-served offers (calls to action) on partner ecommerce sites; 2) the experience of the advertiser-driven actions themselves (redirects to 3P landing pages, in-transaction experiences which feel like seamless extensions of the ecommerce partner experience, etc); 3) UX, discoverability, usability of our "One Platform" marketplace management tool, used by our supply-side ecommerce partners, demand-side advertisers and providers, and internal Customer Success and Operations teams.
- Background as strongly creative, innovative hands-on UX designer strongly preferred.
- Someone who can inspire and challenge individual designers, but also be passionate and compelling in presenting design concepts to Rokt leaders and top-tier external clients exemplified by Ticketmaster, Uber, Hulu, Apple, Disney.
- Despite retaining this irrepressible creativity and passion as a design practitioner, experienced at leading a Design function as an organizational leader. The Design Leader will oversee a team of about a dozen, split between Sydney and NYC. The Sydney team will be led through a local-to-Sydney design lead (TBH, possibly internally).
- Develop a deep understanding of Roktâs, the eCommerce market and product landscape, and our companyâs strategic roadmap.
- Build a Product Design strategy that supports the companyâs ambitions of building the best eCommerce products in the world.
- Drive a data-centric product culture by capturing and leveraging insights from this highly-engaged user-base into effective conversion and retention strategies while creating a seamless user experience.
- Incorporate quantitative and qualitative feedback to understand core customer problems to transform onsite experiences and provide an amazing user experience
- Oversee and manage a team of Product Design managers and senior-level ICs who will drive the Product Design vision day-to-day.
- Work across teams such as product, technology, content, and marketing - as a client and as a service provider, but most importantly as a teammate
- Develop a product vision that drives a best-in-class design experience for our current customers, while pragmatically balancing business objectives and KPIs.
- Build the interface, interaction, and/or experience design of successful digital products and features
- Build an operational system to conduct holistic user research that is repeatable and integrated into our web, tech and content development
Requirements
- 10+ years of designing and building intuitive, impactful, and beautiful digital experiences
- 5+ years of leadership experience, managing, mentoring, and growing direct reports
- Experience establishing a strategic vision for design across all aspects of a product and service and working with PMs, engineering leadership, and teams to drive work towards that vision
- Demonstrated history championing whatâs best for the user while leveraging design to contribute to moving business metrics - using data to make design decisions
- History leading and hiring product designers, content designers, and UX researchers
- Ability to communicate effectively with your team and maintain high levels of credibility with stakeholders about your process and the problem youâre solving
- A proven track record of successfully leading Product Design and UX organizations, managing Managers and/or Director-level leaders, within a cross-functional organization.
- Confident, efficient, and persuasive in presentations to C-suite and other top executives.
- Pragmatic, flexible, and confident leader, who can operate in a fast-paced start-up environment.

Salary Range: $200,000 - $300,000 + Equity + Benefits
