Team Profile:

The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.

Finance is responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial and regulatory reporting for the Firm. They prepare external financial reports for public filings and regulators. For internal reporting Finance, along with Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA), summarizes, plans and forecasts the organization's financial position, including income statements, balance sheets, and analyses of future revenues, expenses and earnings. Finance is comprised of Business Unit Controllers, Infrastructure Controllers, Accounting, Regulatory and Reporting groups, and Valuation Review.

Position Description:

As part of the Wealth Management Finance Product controllers, the individual will be part of the MS@Work product accounting team, key responsibilities include oversee the books and records in the firm's subledger and general ledger, record and review transactions and substantiate ledger balances at month end, review new product offering and review booking model, ensure proper controls are in place. This position covers workplace solution products within WM organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Reconcile the transactional revenue by clients and prepare journal entries
• Gather and validate brokerage account details and record required entries for revenue, brokerage share, client chargeback of fees, etc.
• Prepare accruals and intangible entries and reconciliations
• Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations by entity to ensure accuracy and completeness and identify adjustments needed prior to month-end close
• Prepare monthly reporting for revenue, expense and balance sheet accounts, ensuring variance commentary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• 2 to 5 years post-college experience in financial services industry
• Understanding basic accounting and/or corporate finance
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple deliverables, manage expectations and complete deliverables in a timely manner with exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal collaboration and team skills including working with cross-functional teams - proven flexibility, adaptability and reliability.
• Excellent presentation skills
• Expert level knowledge of MS Office with emphasis on PowerPoint, Word and Excel
