Job Description

This position involves managing the development and maintenance of all Diversified Communications' websites and customer-facing applications. The role involves creating high-quality web solutions that adhere to architecture strategy, design patterns, and user experience best practices. The Web Developer will closely collaborate with the Web Design team to construct new solutions, streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and achieve team objectives.

Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enhance features for our multi-tenant content management / e-commerce / learning management web platform.
  • Develop and manage plugins/custom features for our Event websites, utilizing WordPress/Elementor.
  • Manage and upkeep our AWS-based infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to comprehend business requirements, tackle challenges, and implement industry best practices and solutions.
  • Implement crucial server-side and client-side web development concepts, including integrating data/accounts across multiple systems.
  • Oversee coding and project releases.
  • Implement robust security measures to safeguard data and access, incorporating multiple user levels.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of professional web development experience.
  • Excellent proficiency in one or more backend programming languages (e.g., PHP, Java, Python).
  • Strong command of frontend web programming languages and frameworks (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, AngularJS).
  • Solid experience in WordPress development (custom theme and plugin development is advantageous).
  • Proficient in automated testing, performance monitoring, and optimization.
  • Familiarity with best practices for securing websites and web applications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment:This position offers the flexibility to work remotely and enjoy a hybrid schedule, working in the office 2 days per week. While this position reports into our office located in Portland, Maine, we are open to considering fully remote applicants.
