Summary Who May Apply? US Citizens currently residing within the commuting area of Chievres AB, Belgium (not ordinarily resident in Belgium). US resident alien family members of US sponsors who are citizens of NATO countries other than Belgium. Non-US Nationals must have resided in the US or US Territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation Benebrew-Java Cafe on Chievres AB, Belgium Announcement extended until 15-July-2025. Cut off 25-June-2025 Requirements Conditions of Employment Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. A probation period of one year may be required. Possesses satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-13, to include a Tier 1 background investigation. Successfully complete a health screening. Immunizations required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility. Must meet state/local age requirements at the time of appointment if serving alcoholic beverages (18 years of age). Frequently lifts and moves items weighing up to 40 pounds. Requires constantly standing, stooping, bending, walking and reaching. Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually. Qualifications Experience or training that indicates knowledge skills and ability to perform the duties of this position. Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English and possess basic math skills. Able to bend, stoop, walk, and reach frequently. Skill and Knowledge: Able to work alone. Know the proper use of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions. Know simple food handling techniques. Able to work safely. Able to serve uniform individual portions and avoid distractions when several guests ask for different items at the same time. Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement. All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee. PCS Costs Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Foreign Overseas Allowances Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) will not be paid for this position. Post Allowance may be paid for this position. Off Duty Military (ODM) - Enlisted personnel may compete for flexible NAF positions as vacancies occur. Upon selection and approval of employment by the individual's commanding officer, the individual may work for a NAF activity after duty hours. Conversion of employment category (from Flex to RPT/RFT) may be accomplished without further competition in accordance with AR 215-3.
