Job Description

Summary As a Transportation Specialist you will develop and perform logistics transportation operations that involve planning, coordinating, or evaluating the logistical actions required to support the Center's logistics for a specified mission, aerospace system, or other designated program. The work involves (1) identifying the specific requirements for transportation (2) documentation of transportation processes (3) monthly reviews of transportation processes, performance, and schedules. If selected, the incumbent may be required to complete a financial disclosure statement at the higher/full performance grade level of the position. Qualifications Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-07, you must have: a) One year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level: Assisting with reviewing transportation objectives and/or documentation for accuracy; Assisting with reviewing transportation equipment and/or acquisition replacement of equipment; Monitoring fuel tank levels and customer usage of fuel. OR b) Completed 1 full academic year of graduate study in an appropriate field OR c) Completed a bachelor's degree in an appropriate field and meet Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) criteria. SAA: (1) you must be in the upper third of your graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision; or (2) you must have a 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 GPA; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 GPA based on courses completed in your major field of study during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or (3) election to membership in a national scholastic honor society: https://www.achshonor.org/ OR d) Have an equivalent combination of experience and graduate study in an appropriate field Your resume must include a clear and detailed narrative description, in your own words, of how you meet the required specialized experience.
