Summary AMENDMENTS: Announcement close date changed from 06/30/2025 to 12/30/2025. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This is a Military Technician position is with the Army Reserve Aviation Command, Aviation Support Facility Hood West (Rotary Wing) located at Fort Cavazos, Texas. Requirements Conditions of Employment This position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment/Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. This position requires an annual physical examination. Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. THIS POSITION REQUIRES ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP AS A SOLDIER IN THE U.S. ARMY RESERVE (USAR). This position requires a Personnel Security Investigation. This position is subject to Drug Abuse Testing Program requirements. Qualifications This position is being filled under the Direct Hire Authority for DoD Maintenance Activities. POSITION IS ANNOUNCED AS A STANDING REGISTER (OPEN CONTINUOUS RECRUITMENT): First cutoff date to evaluate candidates will be August 08, 2025 at 11:59 PM. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Aircraft Engine Mechanic without more than normal supervision. Maintaining and repairing rotary wing aircraft engines to include portions of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems, and a variety of less complex maintenance functions. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical effort: Must be able to stand for long periods of time; or endure recurring activities such as bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, and reaching. Must possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Working Conditions: Work is performed inside shops, aircraft, or outside in varying weather conditions. Exposed to high frequency and high intensity noises. Dirt, dust, grease, and fumes are normally present. Danger of the possibility of cuts, burns, shocks, strains, falls, and eye or skin irritations is possible. Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement. Additional information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
