Qualifications PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK CONDITIONS: Incumbent employs a high degree of manual dexterity as some HVAC/R and support equipment are located in relatively inaccessible areas, above ceilings or in crawl spaces. Long periods of standing on ladders or stooping may be necessary. Considerable physical exertion is required when lifting, moving and transporting heavy or awkward equipment. Incumbent must be able to perform for lengthy periods of time in hot, cold or damp areas. Personnel are exposed to hot and cold temperatures for various periods of time. Fumes from refrigerants and other chemicals are a frequent hazard. Exposure to electrical shock, burns and possible injuries from ruptured refrigeration gas or liquid lines. Cuts, bruises and scratches frequently incurred on hands while working with tools or sheet metal. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualifications. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Additional information Receiving Service Credit for Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee.
