Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Bowling Center, RAF Mildenhall. The purpose of this position is to repair and maintain bowling facility equipment. Scheduled shifts may include days, evening, weekends and holidays. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical to include annual audio test This position includes a comprehensive benefits package. Requirements Conditions of Employment This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results. This position may require the incumbent to work an uncommon work schedule, including days, nights, weekends and holidays. This position is open to applicants on PCS orders to the UK (military or civilian) or hold a current UK Work Visa. This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical to include annual audio test. Qualifications Who May Apply: Open to everyone. Applicants will be categorized by preference(s) and/or priority consideration eligibilities. An applicant's eligibility will be determined based on eligibility claimed in the questionnaire and proof of eligibility MUST be provided with application by the closing date, 07/14/2025 Citizens, permanent residents, and legal residents of the United States (US) who reside within the local commuting area (60-mile radius) of RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom (UK), or will do so within the next 30 days. Permanent and legal residents of the US must be citizens of a NATO country, unless authorized to reside in the UK as a dependent of an employee who serves in support of the US Visiting Forces. Eligible applicants must possess a US-issued social security number and be able to provide documentation proving residency status in the UK. Applicants cannot be 'ordinarily resident'. A person is considered to be 'ordinarily resident' if they have resided in the United Kingdom (UK) for more than 366 days without an affiliation to the US Visiting Forces. Time spent in the UK as an employee, or dependent of an employee, of a US agency serving and supporting the US Visiting Forces (i.e., active duty military, federal civilian, AAFES, Red Cross, one of the contract universities, a military banking facility or federal credit union, or US government contractors) is not counted toward being 'ordinary resident'. In accordance with the Status of Forces Agreement between the US and the UK, British citizens may not apply for US NAF positions; however, they may be eligible to apply for local national positions on base. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have previous experience in the maintenance and repair of bowling equipment which provided a thorough knowledge of the mechanical an electrical principle and operating characteristics of bowling equipment and standard test equipment, and the ability to read and understand schematics, wiring diagrams, block diagrams, and manufacturer' service manuals. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds and occasionally push or pull object weighing up to 100 pounds. Must be able to frequently bend, stoop, reach, climb stand, and work in awkward positions. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical to include annual audio test. Must be able to satisfactorily complete National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of suitability and fitness for the position Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify. Additional information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation. All Federal NAF employees are required by PL 104-134 to have salary payments made by electronic funds transfer/direct deposit. Probationary period may be required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from hiring preferences and priority consideration eligible. Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement for up to 90 days after the closing date. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest. LQA is not authorized. Post Allowance is authorized for Regular Full Time employment category.
