Job Description
The Actuary is responsible forassisting the Corporate Actuarial team with implementation efforts on the enterprise-wide financial transformation and modernization program. This role will require collaboration with various functional teams throughout the enterprise, including IT, Accounting, Actuarial, Finance, and Enterprise Business Improvement.The work done in this role will help ensure success of the largest financial transformation project the organization has undertaken to date, and the skills learned will carry forward into other actuarial positions in the enterprise. This role will be focused on leading the implementation and operationalization of the future state actuarial data solution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leadership of all actuarial data workstreams as part of enterprise-wide financial transformation program
- Design, build and test tools used to automate data manipulation and actuarial report creation
- Assist with end-to-end testing of future-state actuarial data architecture
- Communicate results of analyses to internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner and in ways befitting the intended audience.
REQUIREMENTS:
- BS/BA in Math, Actuarial Science, Economics, or related fields
- Attainment of SOA ASA required, FSA designation preferred.
- 5+ years Industry Experience strongly preferred
- Strong skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access) and computer programming languages (VBA, C++, Python) preferred
- Strong skills with data manipulation and analytics tools (Alteryx, SAS, R, SQL, Snowflake) preferred
- Experience with actuarial software (Prophet, GGY AXIS) preferred
- Ability to build strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to solve complex problems and cross-functionally collaborate in achieving enterprise goals
- Proven experience articulating complex data to both a technical & non-technical audience.
- Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background
Salary Band: 06C
This selected candidate will be expected to work hybrid in Indianapolis, IN.The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, WI, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team-building and collaboration.
