Job Description
Summary
The Livestock and Poultry (LP) Program is responsible for coordinating and implementing international programs related to the official grades, standards, verification activities, and specifications for livestock and meat products; and for directing the adoption and administration of technology into the official system of grading for these products.

Qualifications
FOR THE GS-14 LEVEL: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-13 level) that may have been obtained in the private or public (local, county, state, Federal) sectors which demonstrates:
- Experience in the marketing of products produced by the livestock and meat industry.
- Application of international grading standards using scientific literature and related product characteristics which affect the grading of the product.
- Use of grading and certification practices, in order to evaluate and recommend needed changes and develop programs related to international user needs.
- Developing policies, standards, and procedures to guide personnel in grading of livestock and meat industry.

This position does not have an education qualification requirement.

To exercise selection priority for this vacancy, CTAP/RPL/ICTAP candidates must meet the basic eligibility requirements and all selective factors. When assessed through a score-based category rating method, CTAP/ICTAP applicants must receive a rating of at least 85 out of a possible 100.
- A recruitment incentive of up to 25% of base pay may be authorized for eligible candidates. This incentive requires a 3 year service agreement. The service agreement details will be provided prior to the new employees entrance on duty date.
- First time hires to the federal government normally start at the lowest rate of the salary range for the grade selected.
- Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses will not be paid. Any travel, transportation, and relocation expense associated with reporting for duty will be the responsibility of the selected employee.
- Locality pay will vary based upon the selectee's duty location. A final salary determination will be made upon selection..
- Worksite Information: This is a 100% remote position that must be located within the 50 United States, its territories, or possessions. The duty station for a remote designation is the selectee's home and must be established within the defined geographic options prior to start date. The selectee is not required to regularly work from a government facility however, the option may be available.
- Travels to meetings inside and outside of USDA, including foreign travel.
- Occasionally may involve working in processing operations in cold temperatures and among equipment used in processing.
