Job Scope
Leads daily activities of a department or function. Use significant independent judgment and familiarity with the
field to perform work. Responsible for administration of various complex departmental programs and serves as the
lead of a group of employees. Develop policies and procedures and oversee implementation and execution of
them. Typically required to complete tasks of junior-level roles, when needed.
Position Summary
The Senior Business Analyst is the subject matter expert in HCM and Finance ERP database architecture, security
design, data flow, and integrations. Technical expertise in analysis and support of ERP system modules. Lead
meetings and discussions with ERP vendor support and HCM and Finance departments to ensure system issues are
being addressed in a timely manner and are improving operational efficiencies. Drive internal functional user
discovery meetings to document data flow, user requirements, system gaps, and desired future state. Analyze
relational database structures to ensure accuracy and efficiency of complex SQL, reporting solutions, system
integrations, and ancillary systems.
Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with Finance and HCM staff in the development of system specifications to remediate and/or
enhance the ERP and operational efficiencies.
2. Lead strategic planning discussions for future development and enhancements to the portfolio of Finance
and HCM system software.
3. Create workflow and data flow diagrams to document processes and depict current and desired future
state of systems and internal process flows.
4. Provide leadership in the execution of critical technology projects affecting district-wide Finance and HCM
initiatives and manage all phases of the project from initiation to closure.
5. Work together with end users to ensure system operational processes and procedures are documented
and stored in a repository.
6. Critically analyze Finance and HCM systems and processes to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.
7. Ensure integrations and data flow between ERP modules and ancillary systems are accurate and timely.
8. Collaborates with stakeholders on ERP product roadmap, releases and associated system configurations,
testing, and reporting of issues to vendor.
9. Mentor and guide department staff with less experience.
10. Create and execute complex SQL scripts, ad-hoc queries, reports, and data solutions.
11. Perform ERP system and in-house application testing, document results, and report discrepancies to ERP
vendors or internal developers.
12. Troubleshoot ERP issues reported by Finance and HCM staff and work with vendors to ensure timely
resolution of problems.
13. Work together with the leadership of HCM and Finance to prioritize ERP enhancements and system
problem reports and effectively handle vendor communications until issues are resolved.
14. Assist District program directors and principals with Finance and HCM security audit reviews.
15. Prepare presentations and training for diverse audiences.
16. Performs other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities
expected for this position.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, Computer Science, Business, Mathematics or relatedfield from an accredited college or university.
• 3+ years of expert level experience supporting and configuring ERP systems and business applications.
• Experience with Leading a Team and managing large scale projects to successful completion.
• Expert level experience with relational database management systems (RDMS) and writing complex SQL
programming.
• Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee
(approximately $50.00) paid by the employee.
Preferred Requirements
• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• 8+ years of progressive experience with ERP systems and business applications.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Advanced knowledge of Finance and HCM systems, processes, data flow, and integrations.
• Experience leading and mentoring department staff to achieve districtwide goals and objectives.
• Experience leading technology projects following project management methodologies and using software
like Smartsheet.
• Strong skills in MS Office productivity tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
• Expert knowledge in advanced SQL scripting for ad-hoc queries, integrations, and report writing.
• Specialized knowledge of K-12 or Higher Education ERP databases and applications.
• Expert level experience/knowledge of relational DBMS, DB management tools like DbVisualizer, SQL
Developer, or PL/SQL developer and report writing tools like Crystal or Argos reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to research, recommend, and implement innovative technology solutions.
• Experience running stakeholder meetings, managing discussions, documenting action items and following
up to successful completion.
• Expert level analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal communication, organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to engage, build rapport, and effectively collaborate with key stakeholders within the organization.
• Ability to read and interpret technical material and effectively communicate content in layman terms.
• Ability to administer, troubleshoot, and implement ERP software.

• Computer, computer software programs and peripherals, copier, fax, and other equipment applicable toposition.
• Frequent exposure to temperature extremes (hot and cold), humidity extremes, noise. Occasionalexposure to biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc.
Physical Demands/Requirements:
• Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions/deadlines; frequent sitting,standing, walking, climbing, balancing, pulling and pushing; reaching, repetitive hand motions, hearing,
speaking clearly, visual acuity and prolonged data input; occasional lift/carry light, moderate 15-44 pounds.
