Summary 

The Data Analyst & Visualization position is at the nexus of computer science, analytics and business. Using a range of tools and information sources, the data analyst is integral in using data to measure effectiveness or tell a story based on the analysis of myriad pieces of information. In addition, the data analyst should be able to create simple visualizations that help others understand and engage with their research. This position is at the core of the Tamman business model, helping to determine if the properties created are having their intended effect. 

Tamman works with the Alteryx Analytics Platform for building and running workflows. Demonstrable knowledge and experience using Alteryx is required for this position. Applicants with no experience with this software should not apply. In addition, do to certain client work necessary for this role, only United States based candidates should apply.

Performance Priorities

Data Research: Familiarity and understanding of best practices in data research. An ability to use public and private sources of information to establish a clear and concise narrative rooted in fact

Data Interpretation: Ability to segment data so that team members and the public can easily digest and understand complex information

Visualization: With a team, execute a plan to deliver to document and share research in clear engaging ways

Improve client strategy: Monitor and track digital properties, measuring their effectiveness and clearly articulating potential improvements

Specifically: 

• Experience building and running Alteryx workflows (required)
• Experience with the interactive chart and reporting functions in Alteryx would be a bonus
• Experience working with clients and helping clarify their asks into actionable requirements
• Presentation/client communication skills
• Familiar with basic web metrics (page views, sessions, time on page, referrer, bounce rate, etc.) and email metrics (opens rate, click to open rate, unsubscribe rate, etc.)
• Ability to handle multiple projects in a deeply technical and deadline-driven environment, while being adaptable and flexible to change
• Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes
• Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
• Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
• Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges

Hard skills we need: 

• Experience using Alteryx is a must. Knowledge of other business intelligence tools like, KNIME, Tableau, or Power BI is a plus.
• Strong working knowledge and experience with web analytics platforms such as Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, and/or MicroStrategy
• Basic understanding of Tealium or Google Tag Manager
• Experience with using APIs to access data preferred
