Director - Medical Staff Services Position Summary 

  • The Director of Medical Staff Services is responsible for directing the operations of Medical Staff Services and Physician Relations at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional and TidalHealth Nanticoke. Serves as support to the Officers and Chiefs of the Medical Staffs and the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for the following:
    • Medical Staff standing committees
    • APP Council
    • Joint Commission
    • Credentialing and Privileging
    • Physician Relations and onboarding
    • Medical Staff Events, meetings, and conferences
    • Identification of issues, communication to the point of source and possibly facilitating the effort to resolve
    • Medical Staff Office budget

Director - Medical Staff Services Position Requirements  

Education

  • Bachelor's degree is required. 
  • A Master’s degree in healthcare or business administration is preferred.
  • Certified Professional in Medical Services Management preferred.

Experience

  • Five (5) plus years’ experience in the healthcare-related field with organizational and interpersonal skills involving physicians, administration and other healthcare professionals required.
  • Three (3) plus years’ experience at a managerial/supervisor level.
  • Management experience should include an excellent working knowledge of PI philosophy and tools utilization.

Mental Demands

Demonstrates a high level of:

  • Leadership skills to effectively interface between the Hospitals and Medical Staffs.
  • Knowledge of Performance Improvement skills which include facilitation, team leadership, measurement, etc.
