Our Vascular Neurosurgery, Neurointerventional & Stroke Program

• Sharp Healthcare has built the largest stroke network within any regional hospital system, featuring four strategically located Stroke Centers in Metro, Coronado, East County, and South Bay in San Diego. 
• Sharp Grossmont Hospital (SGH) is recognized for having the second busiest emergency room in California, consistently treating the highest number of stroke patients compared to any individual hospital in San Diego, with approximately 1000 documented cases of stroke and TIA each year, and a total of 2500 stroke cases across the system, positioning them as a market leader. 
• Neurosurgery call coverage encompasses three hospitals: SGH, Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center (SCV), and Sharp Coronado Hospital (SCO). Our procedural rooms boast cranial and spinal navigation, cranial and spinal robotics, Kinevo microscopes, and an advanced biplane angiography suite.
• At SGH, a Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center, neurointerventional call coverage is provided alongside two Joint Commission Primary Stroke Centers (SCV & Sharp Memorial Hospital), aiming for Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center Certification at these locations.
• San Diego's newly established dedicated neuroscience hospital includes specialized neuro-intensive care units, neuro-progressive care units, and neurorehabilitation services connected to Sharp Grossmont Hospital.

Qualified Candidates

• Board-eligible or certified in Neurosurgery.
• Completed a CAST-accredited fellowship in Neurointervention and certified or eligible for certification in CNS endovascular surgery with ABNS.
• Possess or be able to obtain a California license before starting.
• Participate in general neurosurgery calls and be capable of managing general neurosurgery cases, including emergent spine surgery.
• Advanced training or certification in cranial microsurgery, endoscopic skull base surgery, or neurocritical care is advantageous.

Compensation Package

• A competitive salary for the first two years, aligned with MGMA data and industry benchmarks.
• After two years, a productivity-based compensation model will be implemented.
