Electric Machine Design Engineer

The Electric Machine Design Engineer will be tasked with the design of our high speed (> 150 000 RPM) electric machines. Your responsibility will include ownership of the electromagnetic design and optimization of the e-Machine topology, and the development and qualification from concept to serial introduction.

You will work closely with our simulation experts, product line integration engineers, our Inverter Design & Systems experts and our advanced manufacturing experts to drive new product development.

• Interact with the system engineer to develop and own the traction motor specifications
• Optimize the design of the machine to meet performance, packaging, robustness and cost targets
• Interact with advanced manufacturing experts and/or suppliers
• Consult with vendors and suppliers
• Suggest enhancements to advance projects and improve workflows
• Design responsibility of the e-Machine until launch of serial production

REQUIRED BACKGROUND

• PhD in electrical engineering or Bachelor/Master's with relevant experience
• 2 years+ experience in electric machine design, preferably on high speed automotive or aerospace applications
• Strong understanding of Electromagnetic simulation and fluency with the tools
• Strong understanding of thermal OR structural simulation of electric machines
• Work experience developing automotive traction machines highly desired
• Knowledge of high voltage insulation systems for electrical machines
• Knowledge of manufacturing process of electric machines
