Job Description

JOB Performs skilled electrical work in the repair, installation, and alteration of electrical equipment and wiring systems.CURRENT VACANCY: One (1) full-time position (12 mos/yr, 8 hrs/day), with full benefits, at the Facilities Maintenance department. New employees in this classification are hired at the fourth step of the salary schedule. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Note:The following is only a partial list of examples of duties. A more complete list of duties and responsibilities for this classification can be found on our web site at www.gusd.net: https://www.schooljobs.com/careers/gusd/classspecs -Repairs, installs, services, and maintains electrical systems, including interior and exterior conduit, light and power circuits, motors, transformers, generators, control equipment, switchers, switchboards, fire alarms, heating and air conditioning controls, clocks, intercommunications, and public address systems.-Installs and maintains electrical elements of shop machinery and power tools.-Replaces switches, receptacles, fuses, fluorescent tubes, light bulbs, and small fixtures.-Estimates costs of materials and supplies.-Requisitions electrical supplies and materials.-Performs related work as required. Qualified candidates will be provided with more details at the appropriate time. Salary: Salary amounts listed above indicate the fourth and last steps of the range. New employees in this classification are hired at the fourth step of the salary schedule.Probationary period: 130 days of paid service.Prior to employment, a candidate must submit proof of freedom from tuberculosis.
