Conditions of Employment

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen residing in the United States
  • Appointment is subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on an SBI with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI)
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • A two-year trial period is required for all new permanent appointments to the ODNI.

Qualifications

Mandatory Requirements:

Thorough knowledge in area of subject matter expertise. Areas include:
  • Cyber Intelligence, Data Science, Emerging Technology (e.g., Artificial Intelligence), Counterintelligence, Leadership and Management, Ethics SME, and Counterproliferation.
  • Regional (e.g., China, Russia/Europe/Eurasia, Middle East/North Africa, Latin America, Africa, Southeast Asia, East Asia, Iran, and North Korea
  • Strategic Warning, Terrorism, Irregular Warfare, Transnational Issues (e.g., Climate, Intelligence Analysis, Financial Intelligence, Heath Sciences (e.g., Pandemics), and Space SME.
Strong critical thinking skills.

Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information in a clear, concise manner that is targeted to, and meets the needs of, diverse audiences with different perspectives and objectives.

Ability to execute senior-level guidance in a fast-paced environment and ability to translate strategic goals into specific objectives with appropriate metrics and methods to track progress towards meeting those goals.

Interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team or collaborative environment; initiative in carrying out mission responsibilities based on supervisor guidance.

Ability to anticipate problems and obstacles associated with moderately complex projects and proactively develop creative solutions to address them prior to implementation.
