JOB Pratt Institute is seeking a Full-Time Plumber to join its Facilities Management Team at our Brooklyn campus who will perform duties in support of the maintenance and upkeep of Pratt’s buildings, grounds and mechanical equipment.The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of all plumbing repairs, replacements and installations; maintain water, gas, steam, waste, feed and return lines, and drainage systems while observing all safety measures. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Perform all plumbing repairs, replacements, and installations; maintain water, gas, steam, waste, feed and return lines, and drainage systems; and replace, maintains, and repair fittings as used in the Institute, including domestic plumbing.Repair, maintain, and replace drainage pipe in tubs, sinks, and toilets; cut thread and fit pipe up to two (2) inches; and replace pipe and use proper supports and hangers.Conduct repairs to units such as renewing seats, packing, washers, flushometers, and other working parts.Use hand tools required in a normal plumbing practice (i.e., snakes, plungers, multiple adapters, chisels, pullers, chain cutters, pipe cutters, pipe clamps, wrenches, key wrenches, files, hammers, mallets, saws, wipers, swaging tools, screw drivers, tubing cutters, pipe hangers, flare tools, pliers, basin wrenches, rulers, awls, squares, sledge hammers, crowbars, grinders, nipples, levels, chalk lines, and small electric hand tools).Perform all other related duties as assigned.
