We are looking for a technology leader who has interest in growing engineers, building and pioneering in the technology space to solve some of the toughest healthcare issues we face today. The healthcare space is exploding with the convergence of new technologies, health sector shifts, and a growing demand for people who love to solve real data problems.

We are looking for a driven Tech Lead to collaborate with a smart, fun, cross-functional team to help tackle these fascinating and challenging problems using new data and machine learning tools as well as pioneer the future of engineering with data at Fuse. We're seeking people who are adept at building data pipelines that can source, clean, and normalize data at scale and who've got the enthusiasm and initiative necessary to deliver solutions at a fast pace as well as apply software engineering and DevOps best practices leading to highly automated and observable data products and highly efficient engineering teams.

Our team consists of architects, software engineers, data engineers as well as specialists in statistical modeling and machine learning. Because our challenges are so new, data engineers at Fuse need strong creative problem-solving skills and the technical background to implement solutions. We acquire data from multiple sources, and this requires a strong understanding of data architecture principles and engineering experience to prepare this data for our models. The ideal candidate will be intricately involved in building PACE (Platform for Advanced Care Engineering) enabling teams to launch and scale Digital Health products and services with speed and scale.

What is expected of you and others at this level

Tech Leads function within an agile development environment by managing the technical aspects of a development team to deliver on products that will bring healthcare and technologies together to transform healthcare into a safer and more cost-effective industry.
  • Product architecture, design, and review
  • Technical debt management and prioritization
  • Operational maturity improvements to ensure daily operations
  • Security assessments to ensure compliance with HIPAA and other guidelines
  • Quality controls that ensure accuracy and transparency of data flows
  • Engineering practices to drive consistent delivery
  • Technical card decomposition for new features as needed
  • Code reviews for feature acceptance
  • Work with a team of developers with deep experience in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full stack systems
  • Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with, and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community
  • Build trust and strong relationships at all levels
  • Proactively develops and maintains technical knowledge in specialized area(s) including the Google Cloud Platform, AI / ML, Cyber Security, and remaining up-to-date on current trends and best practices
  • Creates reusable assets to scale the overall data & product practices across Fuse

Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform
  • Must have design, developed, and supported complex software solution(s).
  • Proficient in SQL & Python.
  • Familiarity with all stages of the product development cycle. Experience maintaining engineering best practices, including defect tracking, design reviews, and appropriate testing.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Pragmatic, product-oriented approach.
  • Ability to influence cross-functionally with minimal supervision.


Preferred Qualifications
  • BS. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or similar quantitative fields preferred
  • 3+ years in the healthcare industry and knowledge of their business practices.
  • Experience with cloud environments
  • 7+ years of experience in application development
  • 7+ years of experience in at least one scripting language (Python, Perl, JavaScript, Shell)
  • 5+ year experience working on streaming data applications
  • 5+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices
  • 5+ years of experience developing Java based software solutions
  • 5+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux including basic commands and shell scripting
  • 4+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • 4+ years of experience with Ansible / Terraform
