Job Description

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a HR SPEC (EMPL BEN), Position Description Number T5019000 and is part of the OH HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICE, National Guard.

The primary purpose of the position is to manage the National Guard Bureau's Workers' Compensation Program (NGBWCP) in a designated region of 4 to 10 states.

The incumbent of this position description must have at a minimum, a completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to position assignment.

Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.

This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.

Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.

May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level. Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Applicants who have the 1 year of appropriate specialized experience, as indicated in the table, are not required by this standard to have general experience, education above the high school level, or any additional specialized experience to meet the minimum qualification requirements.
