Manager - Business Development, Channel Partnerships & Fintech
This role is responsible for Mastercard's business with Digital Merchants, Fintech's and Payment Facilitators/Processors in Sri Lanka and Maldives. In this role, the incumbent will lead the management, expansion and growth of Mastercard's business with Ecommerce & Digital Merchants, Wallets, Online Marketplaces, Shared Economy & Aggregators, Fintech's and Channel Partners (PF's/PA's/TSPs). Position reports to Country Manager, Sri Lanka & Maldives.

Primary KPIs will be growth and penetration of online payments in the CNP/Online Merchant space measured by Mastercard acquiring volumes and revenue, increase in online acceptance/opening new flows, co-brand partnerships, revenue from value added services in Cybersecurity, Data Analytics and Consulting and Processing, driving impactful consumer programs for top of wallet, amongst others.
The role will build & deepen relationships with digital partners & own and drive agreed strategic imperatives and business development initiatives across industry verticals.
Developing strong relationships and working rhythm with x-functional teams to achieve outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Drives new business development by building and driving relationships for Sri Lanka and Maldives and ensures strong C Suite connects by Initiating conversations with key decision makers for existing, new or emerging product opportunities
• Manage relationships with Channel Partners, Fintech and Digital Merchants and ensure open dialogue, manage day to day business, identify opportunities and run programs to grow both Mastercard and customer volumes/ revenue and drive exponential growth in Value added services revenue.
• Identify partner specific opportunities to deepen engagement and business expansion for a win-win outcome. Develop sales, revenue, and other targets, design, coordinate and execute programs and track for success.
• In collaboration with issuing-side account managers and marketing, identify opportunities to jointly develop Card-Not-Present (CNP) spend initiatives.
All about you:
• Must have multiple years of Business Development experience in the Sri Lanka Ecommerce, Digital & Fintech space and have managed revenue budgets of relevant scale.
• Sound knowledge of electronic payments industry, trends, Merchant & Commerce landscape, acquirer economics and value chain; good awareness of digital payments and convergence trends/technologies in the retail payments business; sound techno-commercial acumen and 'inside' knowledge of key Digital vertical dynamics. Experience in digital payments will be a strong plus.
• Established track record achieving quantitative targets and building business relationships.
• Strong team player
• Proven consultative selling experience in B2B handling both strategy and execution. Demonstrated ability to sell ideas internally and externally.
• Powerful storytelling & effective senior level communication capabilities
• Demonstrated success in introducing existing and new/emerging Digital/Fintech solutions into various markets/segments and driving increased penetration with clients
