Job Description
SUMMARY
Copper River Native Association is a Federally Qualified Look-A-Like Tribal Healthcare Organization, serving the beautiful Copper River Valley region in Alaska. Founded in 1972, five Alaska Tribes compacted to form CRNA, with a promise of delivering local, quality healthcare to the Ahtna People. Today, CRNA offers care to all residents of the Copper River Valley. We are searching for a Physician to join the CRNA team and help carry out our Promise Statement to the community. This position may be eligible for loan repayment (up to $80,000 for full-time participants). The Physician Medical Director reports directly to the CEO and closely collaborates with the Director of Medical Services, providing direct patient care, oversight of APP and CHA providers, and leadership to the clinical team. Experience in urgent care services is preferred but not required.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Strong understanding and sensitivity to Alaska Native culture and lifestyle
- Ability to work with people of diverse cultural, educational, socio-economic, and linguistic backgrounds.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships, including outside contacts.
- Excellent clinical skills and bedside manners.
- Demonstrated skills in staff supervision, teaching, and instruction skills.
- Clear and professional verbal and written communication and meeting facilitation skills.Β
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality as required for HIPAA, other regulations, and organization matters.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Medical or Osteopathy degree from accredited university.
- Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related.
- Valid state of Alaska medical license and DEA registration. May be in process.
- ACLS, PALS, ATLS, and BLS certified or equivalent, or able to obtain it within 3 months of hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong community health background and at least three (3) yearsβ experience in primary care.
- Supervisory experience of Advance Practice Providers.
