This role is part of Parametric's hybrid working model, which includes working in the office 3 days a week and choosing to work remotely or in the office the remaining days of the week.
ABOUT TEAM
The Platform Engineering team is part of Parametric IT's Developer Experience department at Parametric and is vital to developer enablement and system reliability in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). As a team, we:
- Consult and collaborate with cloud-native and self-hosted application teams to deliver and operate reliable, performant, robust, and secure applications
- Automate provisioning of non-production environment for application development and testing
- Design, operate, and manage development toolchains and pipelines to meet objectives for high-velocity delivery while also meeting control requirements
- Build and maintain container orchestration on Kubernetes
- Provide observability via monitoring tools such as Datadog, Sentry etc.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Platform Engineer you will work closely with the software delivery teams and other IT functional groups to enable teams to deliver secure, compliant, quality software at speed. You are expected to be engaged with and responsive to a global community of software developers and testers working on strategic product development. You are encouraged to innovate and foster an environment of continuous experimentation. You will work with your teammates to create reusable components and workflows that deliver superior developer experience.
Our team supports a diverse technology stack designed for Cloud Native development on AWS and Azure cloud platforms as well as self-hosted/on-premise applications. Candidates with skills and experience across all our stacks will have an advantage over other candidates but we understand - we work together as a team of people with diverse expertise and strengths to cover our community's needs holistically.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Empower the development teams to deliver quality software at high velocity by creating flows, processes, automation, and tooling
- Design, implement, and manage centralized monitoring solutions that provide expedient actionable feedback to the development teams
- Foster an environment of continuous experimentation and learning
- Function as subject matter expert in creating and delivering reliable, performant, robust, and secure applications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
SKILL SET
Required Experience: 4+ years
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering
- 4+ years relevant experience (Site Reliability Engineer, Platform Engineer, or DevOps)
- Highly proficient at writing automation scripts using object-oriented languages (e.g., Python, Powershell)
- Experience designing and operating automated CI/CD pipeline development in YAML
- Experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform preferred)
- Experience designing, developing, and operating applications and systems in the AWS or Azure
- Experience implementing and operating observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Sentry)
- Experience implementing and operating container orchestration platforms such as (e.g., Kubernetes)
- Developer enablement mindset with an ability to collaborate across technology teams
- Familiarity with application architecture concepts
- Familiarity with networking concepts and terminology
- Familiarity with application and infrastructure security concepts and terminology
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good to have skills
- Experience supporting development teams using combinations of java, .net, javascript or python
- Experience with VMWare, Windows Server, SQL Server and Powershell
- Financial services, especially asset/wealth management industry experience

Coverage for Audit Jobs
• Monday to Friday from 12:00PM to 9:00PM India time with flexibility on standard working hours for time sensitive matters.
• Periodic evening calls with US and EMEA Internal Auditors and auditees.
