Summary
This position is located within the Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Northeast Area (NEA), Beltsville Agricultural Research Center (BARC), in Beltsville, MD.
In this position, you will perform the installation, repair, replacement, and troubleshooting of plumbing and plumbing related items.

- This is an essential/emergency position; incumbent is required to report for duty during emergencies, critical periods, or during times when the Government is closed due to inclement weather or budget cut-off. This is also a call back position.
Qualifications
Physical Effort
The incumbent make repairs and installations from ladders, scaffolding, and platforms, and where the parts of systems worked on being in hard-to-reach places. This requires the employees to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. The incumbent is frequently required to lift, carry, and set up parts and equipment that weigh up to 18 kilograms (40 pounds).
Working Conditions
Incumbent is subject to hot and cold temperatures both within and outside buildings and in tunnels. Works in hot, wet, muddy places, including barnyards and other unsanitary places. Is subject to burns, scalds, blowouts, abrasions, and possible infections due to unsanitary conditions.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
