Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to be based in Sacramento, California.

JOB SUMMARY:

The selected individual will work on one of AECOM's largest infrastructure programs. Under the Project Accounting Manager and the Lead Project Accountant, the Project Accountant performs as a team member who is responsible for the audit and review of expense reports, Travel Request Forms, Travel Expense Claims, and respective supporting documentation and assures submitted documentation adheres to the client's travel guidelines policy. The position will involve interaction and problem-solving with Travelers, Task Leads, and Project Accounting Manager.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the PDS Project Accounting team with the review of the TRF/TEC travel documents in the RAS SharePoint site.
  • Provide travel guideline guidance to traveler and/or proxy as it relates to completing a TRF/TEC.
  • Provide training to new staff regarding travel guideline and completion of TRF/TEC.
  • Communicate and follow up with traveler or proxy and/or regarding resolution of discrepancies of supported documentation.
  • Coordinates and communicates the need for travel cost transfers as needed.
  • Provide ongoing guidance and feedback to the travelers and encourage competent performance while ensuring adherence to project schedules and deadlines.
  • Prepare completed approved TRF/TEC package to send to Subcontractors & JV Partners to be included with their monthly invoice.
  • Prepare supporting documents for inclusion in monthly billing to client.
  • Audit RAS TRF/TEC travel sharepoint site for outstanding TRF/TEC
  • Assist with the Subcontractor invoice review and preparation process.
  • Cross train on other Project Accounting Team duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, commensurate with financial/accounting needs.
Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent organization skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Multi-tasking and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Customer service attitude
  • Understanding of Accounting software as well as, techniques of preparing, producing, and disseminating information

  • Offered rate of compensation for California will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $63,283.93 - $110,746.88
