What You Will Be Doing

Reporting to the VP Employee Experience, this full-time position will collaborate closely with assigned leaders, managers, employees, and the global people team members to deliver global people strategies and initiatives that enable business success and growth.

This role is both a strategic partner and someone who is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves to get the work done. The Sr. HRBP will consult with key stakeholders to design and embed effective people practices for assigned client groups, including talent management, succession planning, engagement survey analysis and action planning, goal setting and cascade process, rewards planning, organization and team development, diversity initiatives, employee relations, employee and leadership development, culture, and values work. In this role, you will partner with COEs and global People team members in designing and rolling out innovative and impactful programs and practices to drive an overall amazing Employee Experience, as well as build connectivity and engagement strategies that are anchored in ChargePoint’s values and support our growing workforce. You will join us at a critical time in our growth and help design and build foundational People programs to enable us to inspire, engage, develop, and grow our employees and leaders around the world. The ideal candidate will have experience at high growth, fast-paced companies, driving transformational change.

This role will require you to be highly organized, detail-oriented, hard-working, and able to prioritize effectively. Additionally, you will need to be versatile and able to work independently as well as work with others at all levels of our fast-paced organization, globally. We are a very lean team that works collaboratively to help improve the employee experience and support the leaders, and you will play a key role in executing our future people strategy and programs in a creative, innovative, and agile manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Engage with assigned executives and their leadership teams to translate business strategy into talent, engagement and people strategies that drive goal achievement
  • Advise key leaders and related partners on people programs and processes that enable the business to achieve its strategy and growth plans
  • Lead or participate in the design and delivery of programs and services from the People function to achieve function priorities and operational requirements
  • Lead organization design and effectiveness reviews and changes and/ or interventions as required, to build capability, drive sustainable change & enhance business results
  • Provide agile, creative, and holistic solutions to people & business challenges
  • Work with leaders to drive organizational, team and individual performance in alignment with our values and culture
  • Leverage data and analytics to diagnose challenges and provide practical solutions
  • Participate in and lead programs and initiatives (e.g., compensation planning, leadership development, workforce planning, and organizational change) for assigned client organizations.
  • Consult with employees and managers to address root causes of people issues, attempting to resolve employee relations issues with a systematic approach
  • Keep pace with best practices and provide thoughtful recommendations anchored in analytics and geared to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Leverage strong coaching and motivational skills to develop and advise executive leadership
  • Participate in global cross-functional people team projects

Requirements and Success Factors

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in HR, Business, or related field; MBA or Master’s degree in HR/OD preferred
  • 8+ years of experience as an HR Business partner
  • Capability to assess an organization, identify gaps, and develop solutions in collaboration with global team members and centers of excellence such as compensation, learning and development, staffing, security, and legal.
  • Comfort focusing on the future while managing day-to-day matters.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure while managing various high-priority projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to successfully work across multiple time zones, as needed.
  • Pragmatic problem-solver who leverages analytic reasoning and business acumen to identify and implement solutions.
  • Excellent relationship building and people skills; expertise in partnering with and influencing executive-level leaders, cross-departmental teams and stakeholders and employees.
  • Strong active-listening skills and ability to exercise discretion when dealing with sensitive topics.
  • Strong project and change management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing demands.
  • Self-starter with a positive and professional approach.

  • Willing/able to travel occasionally.

Location

Full time position in Campbell, CA or Remote (West Coast preferred)

ChargePoint is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $85,000 to $124,000. This range represents base salary and does not reflect equity, benefits or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications and specific work location.
