The Technical Specialist contributes to the execution of programs at our Hill Street location in Louisville, KY. Your daily responsibilities will primarily consist of daily product testing in order to provide support to production and Research & Development. You will have the opportunity to work with state of the art and innovative analytical techniques, well established lab/test environment, ISO 9001 certified quality laboratory system with excellent growth opportunities. This position will support our Catalyst Division in Louisville, KY.
Responsibilities

- Skilled in the operation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of lab equipment
- Understands safety consequence of changes in operations or equipment
- Accurately records data and reports results, including unexpected observations
- Keep a very organized and detailed laboratory notebook (may be in ELN)
- Summarize experiment results and makes observations in reports
- Understands R&D processes and project/business objs; uses this knowledge when making decisions
- Demonstrates expertise in at least one area of specialization. Executes tasks under general supervision
- Seeks to continuously improve skill levels for assigned tasks through OTJ trainings
- Proactively seeks personal development to expand skills
- Consistently meets agreed upon deadlines
- Prioritizes own tasks guided by training, procedures, policies, and supervisor guidance
- Is supportive of change initiatives
- Takes an interest in the business objectives related to projects
- Executes tasks/projects under general direction
- Demonstrates understanding of connections between personal work and project/business objectives
- Anticipates project needs and demonstrates preparedness
Requirements
- Associates, BA in Non-Chem/Chem BS, or equivalent experience
- 3 plus years R&D or Analytical Laboratory equivalent experience
- Basic Computer skills MS Office, Word & Excel
- Characterization Experience using ICP-OES, XRF, and Partical Size is a plus
- Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently with the ability to take initiative
- Should have excellent communication skills both oral and written
- We are seeking an Analytical/Quantitative thinker
