Position Summary
Perform GTAW welding process to join metallic edge joints of sheet metal with semi-automatic/mechanized welding machine.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
• Operate and maintain semi-automatic GTAW welding mill(s) and related equipment to join weld groove.
• Prepares components for welding to ensure quality weld is achieved.
• Perform basic adjustments of weld and machine settings within the weld schedule parameters to achieve a quality weld.
• Utilize provided positioning and adjust fixtures, attachments or workpiece on machine using hand tools and measuring devices.
• Monitors weld quality throughout process to ensure finished product meets quality requirements.
• Maintain accurate work records and logs to document performance and results of weld operations.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area.
• Identify and recognize potential welding operation variations, work to eliminate variations and seek assistance when needed.
• Assist in implementing new methods and techniques to improve processes and quality of products.
• Ensure quality productivity standards are followed.
• Demonstrates ability to appear for work on time, follow directions from a supervisor, interact well with co-workers and work in team environment, understand and follow work rules and procedures, comply with company policies, goals and objectives, accept constructive feedback.,
• Other duties as assigned, requested or needed.

Education and Experience:
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent education and experience. Technical school or training preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of basic TIG welding.
• Basic knowledge in AWS D17.1 and ability to certify in 1G position.
• Ability to read and comprehend traveler instructions, procedures, drawings.
• Ability to follow verbal instructions.
• Ability to apply mechanical and mathematical skills as necessary.
• Ability to utilize normal shop hand tools and measuring devises, such as wrenches, calipers and micrometers.

Pay Rate:The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience with the industry, education, geographic location, etc.
