Summary About the position: This position is located at the Auto Hobby Shop on Spangdahlem AB. This is a Regular Full-time position (35 Hours per week). Work schedule is Monday-Saturday. This is a drug testing designated position. Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 40-50lbs. Must be able to frequently bend, stoop, crawl, reach and work in tight spaces. Military Spouse Preference is lost if selected for this position. Requirements Conditions of Employment This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results. This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and one every three years thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health, ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident. This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid USAREUR Driver's License to operate vehicles. Qualifications Who May Apply: Open to everyone. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience in the maintenance and repair or diesel and gasoline engines, which includes the full range of repairing, disassembling, troubleshooting and overhauling engines. Knowledge of the makeup, operation and installation of complex systems and assemblies to assist in troubleshooting and repairing. Knowledge in testing and troubleshooting systems and components to find defects. Ability to read and understand manufacturer's manuals and technical specifications. ASE certification is desired. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.
