Summary This position is located within various MWR Outdoor Recreation Facilities. A one year probationary period may be required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. A Medical Examination is required. Must be available to work varying and/or rotating shifts to include nights, weekends, holidays and events. This position is dual compensation exempt; All GS and NAF employees whether full time or part time are eligible to apply for this position. Must be able to frequently lift and carry moderate to heavy objects up to 50 pounds. Must also be able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions. Must possess a valid Driver's License. Qualifications 1. Three (3) months of laboring experience required. This experience must be reflected on your resume to be considered eligible for this position. 2. Must have the ability use, control and clean tools and power equipment used. 3. Must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps without constant supervisor of each task assigned. It is recommended these skills be reflected on your resume to be considered eligible for this position. SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE: Manual skill to lift and move moderately heavy objects. Skill and knowledge to safely operate simple power equipment and hand tools (lawn mowers, leaf blowers, edges and trimmers, scrubbers and buffers, steam cleaners and vacuums). A basic knowledge is required of routine maintenance procedures for power equipment. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies: knowledge, skills, abilities, additional screening criteria and other characteristics. Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement. Additional information Note: Candidates with Special Qualifying Skills and Experience may be brought in higher than the Step 1 rate of pay, determined by the Hiring Manager. FWS Allowances and Differentials This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position. All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
