Summary About the Position: This is a full-time civilian faculty position with an initial term of 3 years, the first of which may be a trial period. Reappointments may occur in up to five-year increments thereafter, subject to performance and availability of funding. Academic rank and salary will be based on the selectee's academic credentials, experience, and professional accomplishment. Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens This is a term appointment in the excepted service not to exceed 3 years. Appointment may be extended in one- to five-year increments thereafter. In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirements: A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to meeting the Qualification Requirements above, applicants will be rated on the following: SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): PhD or other terminal degree in a discipline relevant to the USAWC educational mission, e.g., history, political science, management, international relations/studies, etc. is preferred. Demonstrated experience overseeing accreditation programs, ensuring compliance with institutional standards and regulations. Familiarity with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education's Standards for Accreditation and Requirements for Affiliation and/or the Officer Professional Military Education Policy (CJCSI 1800.01G) is desirable. Proven ability to conduct academic assessments and institutional research with a strong foundation in statistics and research design. Skilled in data collection, analysis, and interpretation to support decision-making and institutional improvement. Demonstrated ability to teaching at the graduate level. Knowledge of increasing academic leadership, e.g., Course director, program director, department chair, and/or supervision of military and/or civilian employees. Demonstrated ability with designing, assessing, and updating academic policy. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams, including faculty, students, administrators, and staff. Demonstrated ability to work semi-independently, as well as manage time and projects efficiently and effectively. Ability to tell stories using visual data tools to present data clearly to non-technical audiences.
